I was at the doctor's yesterday for bloods, weight, urine, bp etc. for diabetic clinic. Although I no longer show up as a diabetic, they're keeping me on the list 'just in case'. In other words they don't want to lose the money they get. After coming home for a while I then went into Tonbridge for a mammogram.

When doctors are paid extra for every diabetic, heart patient, etc., no wonder they don't do enough to help people to find a cure.

The processed food companies make a lot of money making us ill - Big Pharma make a lot of money keeping us there with their drugs - one leads to another for the side effects, which leads to another and so on. Then doctors make extra money every time someone gets sicker. There was a photo on Facebook which was above a health centre (UK) and read: 'Come and get your flu jab here and fund us for our work next year'.

There is no way they'll listen or explain arguments for/against the flu jab when it brings in a lot of money that boosts the services they can off for the following year. The NHS is cash strapped.

I've been wathing diet doctor videos to re-affirm myself to keto - they're fun. Tony was saying that he won't be eating any of it with me - so yesterday I made spring greens, fried in coconut oil and butter, added salt and pepper and a good swish of double cream and suddenly he wants to eat some. I knew he would. It's hard cooking for a vegetarian who doesn't like veggies. He does like potatoes, celeriac and swede. I can get cauliflower into him if I roast it, but cabbage he turns his nose up at. I've been adding chopped brussel sprouts to his curries for ages - he can't see them - so he eats them.

We went to Rochester this afternoon. Had lunch at Ye Arrow and then Tony climbed the castle. I had a good lunch, but because some of the chips had been laid against the meat - not many - I ate them (Tony eats my non meated chips). I had a pain au chocolat later and then when I got home, although I wasn't hungry, I really, really wanted to eat. Luckily I realised that the chips led to the pastry which could lead to me just keeping on going. I had a small piece of parmesan cheese instead.

By Chips I mean real ones - French Fries not crisps. lol

Shirley came home from hospital after 24 hours. They think she has an abscess, so she's on anti-biotics and is off to the dentist this afternoon.

I ate on Tuesday - because when I'm left alone I panic, and when I panic I eat. I had some eggs on Wednesday to get my protein back up and I don't intend to eat until next Wednesday. My bg was 113 this am and blood ketones 0.8. That will do for me.

Tony is busy digging up Ragwort - he does a little a couple of times a day - he did some this morning and I decided that rather than look at food and possibly eat I would tidy our bedroom and put things away. It worked, he's back now and nothing has been eaten

This is something I read yesterday that resonated with me, so I thought I'd share:

Imagine you are walking in the woods and you see a small dog. You speak to it and it growls and snarls at you. You step back cross with it - then you see that one of its legs is caught in a trap. Your feelings about the dog immediately change from anger to compassion, you know that it's only growling and snarling because of the pain.

Now transfer this to yourself and other people. If someone is nasty, snarly or off with you for no reason, wonder what is causing them so much pain and anguish, and show them compassion. For yourself, try and work out why you feel as you do.

Have a good weekend all
