DavidJ's Journal, 21 December 2007

Tomorrow is my weigh in. I'm not too nervous because I know that I have been doing well this week and I'm looking forward to it paying off. It will also signify a week of dieting, and thats the exact period of time that I have to work with when I'm trying to get through week by week. I've been starting to do some math lately, and with 240 pounds as my starting weight, and 170 pounds as my goal weight, with a goal of finishing by May 16, 2008, that is a rate of losing 3 pounds a week. I think that is extremely unlikely, so I'm going to make a more reasonable goal of 1.5 pounds a week, meaning I'll be under 200 by April. It's a little depressing that it will be that long, but I'm realistic.

AND HOPEFUL! My new goal is getting under 200, and when I complete that, I will worry about getting to 170. In this case, I'm hoping to get under 200 by March, since its easier to lose weight, the heavier you are.

Today's quote and recommendation are the same thing, which will probably continue...

It's a quote from the musical "The Last Five Years". It's about a relationship between a man and a woman, with each of them singing solos about their marriage. The man starts at the beginning of their relationship singing about how great their relationship is, and how it deteriorates, and the woman starts at the end of their relationship, singing from deterioration to love at first sight. In the middle of the show is a duet at their wedding. Great show:

"Just holding you might compell me to ask you for more. There are so many lives I want to share with you. I will never be complete until 'I do'."

small goals is the key! more likely to reach them and dont realise how close to the ultimate goal your getting ive hovering around the 170s for all but a month now after dropping 20+ lbs since march 07 and im stalling so have given myself little goals 1st just to get to 165 (then im out of this plateau) then so on in 5-10lbs sections im aiming for 130 or somewhere there abouts. Im sure your weigh in will show you good results from this weeks hard efforts good luck ill pop over and check on you then! lol

Good luck during weigh-in's David!!! If I was tall enough, I'd stand over your shoulder to see what the scale says!! (Oh, I should at least make sure i'm in the same part of the State as you are too!). I like the quote from the musical. Wish I'd seen it!
