Ok, so here we are at Day 7 of the Sugar Strike. I have done amazingly well. I'm not trying to be all cocky here, because I know there will be slip ups in the future... but seriously, for me, a WHOLE WEEK without added sugar is a pretty big deal! I even yelled at my poor husband for leaving a pack of Reese's in his bag after a trip. "Why in the world would you plant a boobie trap like that???" Even more amazing is that I'm right in the midst of my PMDD cycle. I have gotten super crabby a couple of times.... last evening and this afternoon for example. But then I worked up a sweat cleaning the stove... just how does the stove get so gross? It's not like I'm purposely dumping food down into the burners and the cracks between the counter and stove. But there it all is. I even scrubbed up under the range hood where NOBODY CAN EVEN SEE!!

Anyway, I got all sweaty cleaning the stove... and then it was past time to fix dinner so I had to put the grates and stuff all back together. I got out the meat and the skillet.. and discovered I'd blown out the pilot lights. Being frustrated and sweaty does not lead me to be hungry. So that's good right? Clean kitchen and small dinner. Yea I know, I'm a lame-o.

So anyway.. 7 days.... No Cookies, No Chocolate, No pastries, NO DIET PEPSI MAX!!! I think I might be thru the caffeine withdrawal segment of the process. I have given up caffeine before... for years in a few cases... only to think "oh, ONE pepsi won't hurt". It's a slippery slope. Sugar is the same. I quit once when I was way healthier than I am now. I quit all at once, and within a week I found myself fainting on the sidewalk early in the morning on my way out to my truck for work. I called my doctor and he said, "Maybe you should eat some sugar and see if you quit fainting on the sidewalk." So I did... and I never stopped. The rat bastard. I blame YOU Dr. Schwarting!

Do I have a point today? No. I don't need one.
