W2W's Journal, 26 February 2012

Two more weeks until Daylight Savings Time and then I can start having breakfast. I am learning that though at the end of my fast I am starving, real hunger does not take much to quench. I want to thank DLynne for Revolution Rolls; which I plan to use when I begin to eat breakfast. This is so hard, but I refuse to quit. I will not regain these 21 lbs ever again. I am praying for all of us. We will in Jesus name conquer this. Be Encouraged.

W2W, how long is your fast? It sounds very hard.

Allowing your body to feel what real hunger is completely changes your view on eating. And you are right...it doesn't take much to quench it. This is a fantastic lesson. Now we know to eat when we actually feel hungry and not to over eat just because we are. Thanks for reminding me :)

I'm curious too, what kind of fasting is it? I have heard of some benifits from occasional fasting and I know there are various ones for religious reasons.

I have been fasting everyday from sun up until sun down since Jan 1, 2012. After daylight savings time begins I will start eating a no more than 300 calorie breakfast.

That sounds very similar to the Muslim Ramadan, hope I spelt that right. I worked in Malaysia for a while and it is mainly a Muslim country and during the month of Ramadan they wouldn't eat, drink, or smoke from sunrise to sunset. Soon as the sun went down all of these food carts would appear and the feast was on. The first call to prayer was at 5:00 in the morning though to allow people time to pray and still have some breakfast. You're doing this for three months though....how is your energy?

What is this fast you are on? How are you doing? Muslim Ramadan and Jesus, just don't mix?? I am curious?? Hope you are taking care of yourself! Be good to yourself!

Towards the end of the day my energy level is very low, however my job is sedentery. Hopefully by daylight savings time I will have made it to my first goal which is 25 lbs lost. Then I will begin walking in the morning. This fast was given to me by my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to break the strongholds of this overeating addiction. I have never fasted this long ever and to God be the Glory. The other thing is that I have let some things go. It is time for me to take care of myself. I have had to become selfish in my recovery. Some days are better than others. Today I am okay. Be Encouraged.
