I will win's Journal, 15 January 2017

Good Morning FS members.
I wake this morning (this is believed to be an excellent habit to get into) thinking about meals for Monday.
I want to have a 170 gram potato cooking it in a pressure cooker but don’t know how to find the calorie count.
Do I treat them as boiled or steamed as in both those methods of cooking the goodness is cooked out of the food but in pressure cooking, I believe it remains.
Another point I need help on is when using an Activfry for making potato chips.
We add the smallest amount of vegetable oil, like a teaspoonful, which produces beautiful chips but how do I treat this for a calorie count?
I do have difficulty finding information about this method of cooking and relating it to calories.
Any help or advice would be appreciated.

I thought steaming potatoes was better than boiled for keeping in the vitamins and minerals. Maybe I'm wrong. Either way, I'd count presssure cooking as steamed as that's how they cook the way I do them in my pressure cooker (above, rather than in the water). For the Actifry, since you're only using 1tsp oil, I'd just add that in since it's only about 40Calories for the whole batch. Neither will be exact but then the nutrients in the potato will differ anyway depending on time of year and variety so none of it is an exact science. All we record is a bit of a best guess. Have fun!
