legs ache, knee aches, foot (the one under the bad knee) aches, the bird is exploding feathers in molt...summer must be over and the eating season is beginning <yea,..>

soon it will be another anniversary of my mom's passing (christmas day 2013).

all those "comfort foods" sure look better than ever...especially anyway you turn someone is shoving pastries and candies at you...

My dad will be gone 6 years on the 9th. I hate the holidays too. It's not the same and even the food doesn't taste the same.

I've found the best antidote to the "holiday blues" is to make a conscious effort to do random acts of kindness. Smile, help, offer a hand or a smile. In lifting others, you can't help but lift yourself.

My mom passed over on Christmas week, too. It's been 19 years, but the holidays are just not the same for me. I think of it as the time of year that the angels bend low over the earth and harvest a few souls! The dark skies do seem to open up. And, yes, Ms. Kes, people do seem to be in need of kindness as the dark of the year approaches.

one the brighter side, I'm out of the boot and have a prescription for some physical therapy... And I know why my weights been climbing these last few weeks (Had a weigh in at the clinic and hit 220!on teusday)--almond and pumpkin seeds, been snacking on those (the nutrition label showed it work be do-able, BUZZZT wrong answer opposite: high in fat, calories and carbs ...now I'm dropping again, 218 this morning. still not looking forward to another eating season(Halloween thru Easter when everyone shoves food at you)/holiday season alone.
