Broke my diet yesterday on a corporate dinner with my coworkers and our visiting software vendor at a German restaurant. I've never had German food, so it was worth the potential set backs of getting into ketosis again. The beer was amazing. I am typically not a beer person, but I could drink the German variety.

Today, I woke up not really in good spirits. Mostly just being annoyed that the dogs woke me to take them out 3 hours after I had took them out before bed. How is it that they can sit in the house 8 hours during the day, but not 6 while I try to sleep. Of course my boyfriend, who gets up later than I do because he doesn't have to make the hour commute to work never hears the dog barking to go out...never. So it is always me who has to let them out at all hours and hope that I can get back to sleep before the alarm rings at 5.

Driving to and from work takes me through Uptown Charlotte. *sigh* I got to see CMPD in their riot gear last night and troopers guarding the CMPD station this morning. Charlotte, I thought as a community we were better than this.

The vendor is returning today with breakfast biscuits and lunch. I am going to try to find a way to eat keto and stay social even though not really feeling like doing either.

Hang in there, and stay true to yourself. All you can do is the best you can do.

LOL - our cats do the same thing - and they are not even hungry! Charlotte is a beautiful city. It will recover.

They'll last 8 hours when nobody is home because they haven't got a choice. But when you are in bed they know you are there. Mine usually only wake me when something is wrong.

The day did improve, and I honestly thank everyone for the well wishes. I know Charlotte will recover. As a southern city it is diverse and strives to be inclusive. I am proud to call this place my home for the last 10 years. I am especially proud of my alma matter, UNCC. They were able to have a student demonstration and talks without anyone trashing anything on campus.
