Hi everyone I am back on Atkins was on it in 2010 and did very well.
I had my yearly Physical every thing was good but my blood tests showed High Cholesterol so I went on a low fat diet. I was trying to do low fat low carbs it was sooooooooo hard and stressful I didn't know what to eat. I was trying to do both it was not working at all. Then I got an E-mail from butterfliesrfree she reminded me that Atkins lowers Cholesterol. So as of Aug. 15th I am only on Atkins for the most part I feel great but I do have a little Atkins Flu I was expecting it getting it shows me that I'm on the right track and I know what to eat so it took all the stress out of dieting ( way of eating ) and the scale is going down :) Thank You butterfliesrfree for getting me on the right way of eating again.

Oh my gosh, my situation is so similar. I got the elevated cholesterol reading in this past year. I don't usually eat fried food or other junk. I do eat a lot of eggs because the paleo/Atkins diet usually lets you eat more protein and fat. Trouble is I was then absolutely struggling with the low calorie, low carb, low fat thing. So then I read more about the Atkins diet and I remember 10 years ago I did that kind of diet on my own and had great success. The amount of fats per day still puzzles me. It seems that higher fats don't matter as much as high carbs. Some say that you can eat as much fat as you like, as long as the carbs are restricted (eg the ketogenic diet). I still keep thinking the doctor will give me a hard time if I eat too much fat.
