I started following the Atkins Diet three days ago at 178 pounds and now weigh 175. Years ago in the 1970's I was successful using the Atkins diet even though I met with substantial insulin resistance. Now I am hoping that my long-time somewhat low-carb (and low-fat) lifestyle have made me less insulin resistant so that the diet will work even though I'm now 75 years old and very sedentary in my habits.
