Today I was bad, if this diet was a schooI, I would have been expelled. I don't know what I was thinking! Around mid day, I kept staring at the digiorno in my freezer.. Not a single serving size, but a family size pizza. I finally convinced myself to bake it and have a slice... I thought hmmm... Share it with my daughter. It was supreme and she hates all the toppings. She didn't touch it. Little by little, piece by piece it started to disappear into my stomach. I ate the whole thing. Then I figured I was f****d so I went to Carl's Jr.. Ordered a low carb 6 dollar burger. Then ate a pecan pie that a grandma sitting next to me homemade and gave me.
This is what I do. I work hard all week suffering with green juice just to blow it. It's like my brain sometimes doesn't work. I have very bad will power.

Even after all that food, I'm still not really satisfied. Maybe I have lost certain chemicals in my brain that indicate I'm full? Maybe my signals are not there anymore? I've had blood work done, it's not thyroid, I'm just bad!

Sometimes I have to force myself to go and do something - anything - just for a few minutes so I can "forget" how badly I want those cookies. You're trying though - that's huge, and you gotta forgive yourself too :)

Thanks, it's time for me to get back into my fat pants again. Do you do LCHF? I see it's really popular here on fatsecret. I've been eating carbs but trying to stay below 1450 calories but I'm so hungry!! I'm not sure I'm doing the right diet.

I'm not a dietician or anything even vaguely close, but you might not be eating enough, to be honest. Many years ago I did Atkins for awhile and it worked great right up until I had surgery. Fast forward to now and I'm diabetic with a disobedient thyroid and a very uppity liver, and my diet impacts all three (and vice versa). I'm at around 1700 calories/day give or take, and I'm aiming for high fat/low carb/mod protein. I was also more or less 100% sedentary a couple of months ago. Now I'm alternating cardio x 2 one day, and cardio + strength training another day, and that's helping tremendously (though I'm pretty sure the treadmill is suffering from shock trauma lol). This is working for me so far. I've found eating fat makes me less hungry (I do love my avocados & mayo!). Do you think that's something you want to consider?

Yes, I just spent the last hour reading up about LCHF and wow so many success stories. Moderate protein, low carbs, high fat might be the thing for me to try. Unfortunately I'm typically a jack of all trades and a master of none, so I give up after a week of trying. This time, I must lose Weight so I must stick to it. I really appreciate your insight.. It cheered me up and really made me rethink my current plan. Thank you! I think tomorrow I will start day 1 of LCHF. Thank you for your support!!

I also have to agree with SteelerMummeh. If you just force yourself to starve (and apparently only have green juice) it is like punishing yourself and not giving your body all the necessary nutrients. I think if you start such a diet to abruptly, you may hurt yourself more than doing any good. Always keep in mind that you don't HAVE TO lose weight but you WANT TO, makes a huge difference. And consider other options than fasting if this is the outcome. Be more positiv with yourself :)

Also about the will power. You are not bad. I'm reading a book about will power. Turns out i's very unreliable for everyone. The people that appear to have a lot really don't use will power, they set up their environment to succeed (not having things around, I hide food from my view, brown paper bags go over the icecream and pizza and beer so that I don't see it many times a day), they avoid some places completely bc too risky, they make habits and do it or Don't do stuff automatically, they make the new thing part their identity. The leader of our meeting always says Don't let your trips become falls. And be nice to yourself.

I have the same problem with feeling full. I've determined that it's not that I don't feel full, I don't recognize the feeling anymore. It's not like your stomach is hurting feeling, or feeling boated, it's just nothing really. Like, I'm not hungry anymore, and that's what we need. Maybe it isn't being full like 10 out of 10 full, but I don't think we're supposed to eat that way. As far as your green juice, maybe you need to give yourself a cheat day once a week, but keep them on the slightly smaller scaler ;p Don't beat yourself up too bad! You'll get right back on the train :)

I've had those days on previous diets. It mirrors yours almost exactly! Those days suck but it's important to remember it isn't the end and you can do it :D

Yes we've all had those days, you think being vegan would stop that mess well let me tell you it doesn't. Yesterday I had a whole bag of Fritos, bean dip, Ben and Jerry's peanut butter cookie dairy free icecream( super yummy btw) and all kinds of bread. Plus my healthy starches and whole foods. I know I over did it cause I woke up with a headache but you just have to say, I'm starting over right now! Don't wait till tomorrow or later pick back up the green juice and keep it moving and you'll be alright

I get bad on occasion also, but get right back on track. My own opinion is you can't just stop living and need to cheat once in a while. Good luck stick with it.👍

Atkins works for me. Oddly enough cravings for sweets have fallen off dramatically and I haven't been hungry. What I have found is that 1) Atkins allows me to actually EAT. 2) I have to carb up at least once a week (cheat day, increase carbs by 5-10) 3) Slightly sweet things are now delish without a lot of 'sugar'. I'm a carb-a-holic. And I mean that! My diet used to consist primarily of carb rich foods. I also had a sweet tooth for any baked goods as well. Candy not so much. The low carb life style seems to be working for me. It is trial and error. The main thing is on the days you eat no-no foods try not to take it personally. Just chalk it up to a cheat day and then go back to your routine...Whether it's Atkins or some other way of eating. Also, research the recipes on here. There are a lot of awesome recipe choices and actually cooking helps because it keeps you occupied with planning and executing the meal rather than scarfing down the quick and easies, if you know what I mean. You're still succeeding as long as you don't give up!

This is why I love FatSecret... The support we receive here is AMAZING!! The good thing about LCHF eating is that it keeps you full. I hover around 1300 calories a day, sometimes I go over, but usually I'm under, without even trying. I have hypothyroidism, have tried everything to lose weight, and low carb is the only way that scale goes down. Ultimately, you know what's best for you... good luck with it, don't ever get discouraged (even on Digiorno days 😉)! We all have them, but like Redgirl said... If you fall off the wagon, just jump back on!
