Ok here's the scoop. I have got to lose this weight because it is making matters worse, and I am getting nowhere fast.

My Story: I am 100% disabled. I have had and beat cancer twice, I have a major back and rib injury, I have a permanent neck injury, osteoporosis, degenerative disk disease, coronary artery disease, osteoarthritis, fibromyalgia, RA, severe carpal tunnel in my hands that significantly affect the use of both my hands, and both my arms, I have severe blockages in both my carotid arteries, I have a 70% blockage in my coronary artery, I also currently have 2 abdominal hernias in need of repair, Again, I have an implanted pain pump, I have hypothyroidism, and have calcified nodules on my thyroid that I have to frequently have biopsied, I go in for another biopsy on Monday not related to my thyroid, I am very close to being diagnosed as diabetic as my A1C is sitting right on the line, so if I don't get this weight off that will be yet one more diagnosis added to an already too long of a list, PLUS I've had 35 surgeries,(Yes 35 surgeries due to significant medical issues.

I'll be honest, I've been unable to do anything necessary to lose weight due to pain, surgeries (last surgery in Sept. 2015, physical disabilities, also I had a stupid foot swell up in June 2015 that remains swollen still today preventing me from being able to even walk or swim for short periods of time. I found out just yesterday there are severe blockages in both my Great and small saphenous veins in both of my legs that is significantly affecting the mobility in them.

Other than trying to eat clean that is about all I am able to do at this moment to try to get this weight off so any diet tips, easy meal plans, etc. would be greatly appreciated. Can you help? Thank you and have a wonderful night.

I'm sorry, but other than eat clean, watch your calorie intake without going overboard and drink plenty of water, I have no idea what would be beneficial to you. Perhaps you could consult with a nutritionist, as you have such a specific set of challenges to take into account? Whatever happens, wishing you luck and better health. Awesome that you're reaching out to make a change.

I would echo what Jules_AW said. It would seem you would need to be careful about watching calories and maintain a calorie deficit...it doesn't sound like you're able to do much activity. Seeing a nutritionist would be a great idea. It doesn't look like you're logging any food or tracking calories, at least on this website. I would suggest you carefully measure and log everything you eat, without keeping track of that one way or another you can't really know what you're taking in food-wise. Saying a prayer for you and wishing you better health.

Patience and no sugar are the best things you can do, and when I say no sugar, I mean nothing that has sugar in it and nothing that your body will convert to sugar. I stretch daily, that might be a good start because it's not particularly strenuous and will begin to prepare your muscles for more intense exercise when you start dropping weight. I weighed 412 pounds when I swore off sugar on June 14, 2015. I weighed in couple of weeks ago at 308lbs, and all I've done, besides typical housework and taking care of my three year old daughter has been daily stretching and a no starch/no sugar diet. You can beat the weight, but it takes time and effort. Good luck!

With most of your conditions, a meat and low-starch veg type diet would work really well. The diabetes, fibromyalgia and CAD typically respond well to it and after the first 4-5 days, the cravings largely go away. What I've found during my research (which has made sense for me and my mom who has RA, lupus and scleroderma) is that wheat-based foods can cause inflammation and make conditions like fibro worse. My cousin has it and told me she feels better when she reduces her carbs. It may/may not work for you but it's an option. Best of luck :)

Thank you all for your responses. I appreciate them very much. The reason I haven't logged any calories etc. in to track yet is because although I did my initial weigh in in June, right after was when my feet and legs swelled up huge, that in turn caused a bad fall that pretty much put me out of commission for some time after that. Then the surgery I had to have in Sept was again another set back, so I just tried to eat as clean as I could during that time, but didn't bother to track anything. I returned to the site again just last night and thought I'd start fresh, and also see which approach/diet etc. you all felt might work best for me, under the circumstances. So I'm going to look into all the diet tracking stuff, and figure out how to use all those, and I'll begin putting in all my tracking information soon. Thank you all again for your suggestions. Have a wonderful night.
