StormsGirl's Journal, 11 October 2023

I’m forcing myself to eat. Don’t really have an appetite right now and only eating because I need my energy to teach. I’m extremely upset and sad about Israel right now. (Really, the world). What’s being done to those babies, children, the elderly, Holocaust survivors, etc. is beyond evil. Makes my stomach literally feel sick. Now I know why God said these days are the times of sorrow. 😢 Prayers for the innocent.

Horrible for both sides. Not everybody living in Gaza is Hamas. Sadly they too are collateral damage of the extremists. I find I'm getting increaasingly frustrated with extremism wherever it manifests. Nothing good ever comes from it. Whatever happened to moderate, pragmatic thinking and the old "live and let live" adage. Isn't it the want of most people on the planet to live in peace, to be healthy and happy? Politics suck. Tribalism sucks. We all bleed red.

I’m upset about it as well and it makes me sick that so many people were raped and slaughtered at a music festival. There is so much evil in the world.

I’ve been extremely sad to hear the news. I keep turning the news off. I can’t hear about the babies being killed. I keep feeling like I will cry all day. Teenagers were murdered at a concert. It’s breaking my heart. I’m praying throughout the day!

I totally agree. There are too many nuts who are running loose and making life miserable for all of us.

Yes, allowing myself to take it slow and loving others and myself a bit extra today because it helps me stay centered during times of exterior turmoil.

So it helps, not to always suffer alongside those who are suffering, but to be a light unto the world. Remind yourself that there is yet love. We are always more than our sadness.

It's a dark week, so sad for all the victims on both sides. I wouldn't want to be trapped in Gaza right now.
