I keep plugging away, as much as I burn you would think I would be losing more quickly.

31.48 miles ridden and 2719 kcal burned...

This calorie usage is from yesterday.

Remember the body remembers what you do and how much you intake and output changing that up one way or another will help your green arrow down.

Eddowning, what type of diet are you following?

Hi Barbara, I'm calorie counting. For my size 6'4" and weight 220 to lose a pound a week my goal is to eat 2560 calories a day. BUT that's without exercise. My exercise consists of fairly fast bike rides near or over the 30 mile range. I burn 2500 to 3200 calories regularly. So I have a pool of anywhere from 5000 to 5700 calories that I could theoretically eat and still lose that pound a week. The example above was my calorie intake and the deficit I had for the day yesterday. Please don't get worried about my salt intake. Today my riding shorts was covered with salt when I finished, I sweat most of it out. My BP last checked this week was 124/74.

You are not losing more quickly because when you up the exercise you start replacing the fat with muscle. As muscle is heavier per volume than fat, it will seem that you aren't losing weight. But start measuring - not just waist and hip, but also neck upper arm, wrist, thigh, calf and ankle - and you will see the numbers shrinking there. check my journal, I have posted a photo of 5 lbs of fat vs 5 lbs of muscle. that is why athletes can look slimmer than a normal person and still weigh more.

You can eat 2560 cals a day??? You should thank heaven. I get 1400 bc I can't exercise very much thanks to injuries. Hate you a little.

Wow, you've got a heck of a calorie burn going there! Nice.

Might be worthwhile reducing the amount of carbs and upping the fat. All the best.

ARGH! Heard that one before. Tried it. Still fat. The doc I went to most recently told me I needed to shave down to 1400 rather than 1600 - which is what this app was originally saying. For those of us who are limited, weight loss is very slow. The Naturopath also put me on some glandular supplements. Seeing if it helps. I'm hypothyroid, so I have been at a disadvantage for many years.

PS The amount of cals you burn may be a miscalculation like mine was. Basically, I was going by my present weight, but the proper calculation BMR is based on ideal weight NOT present weight. I basically eat at my BMR - which may be even lower because of my hypothyroid issues.
