Yearofhealth2023's Journal, 10 June 2023

So yesterdays lunch at restaurant I didn’t know how to record properly so im guessing calories must have been off hugely! Cutters grilled halibut, jasmine rice and roasted vegetables (small portion) divided in two half for lunch half for dinner. Either a ton of sodium or a ton of calories I didn’t realize. Probably explains why it tasted so good.🤬🤔🤬

And i just realized that fatsecret changed over the date yesterday to today June 10 so my June 9 and June 10 food intake will be reversed in actuality. Note is for myself. June 9 input will actually be June 10 input.

You can go back & change the foods to the correct day if you want.

Sherrye-you mean delete everything and re-input? Im soooo lazy i just made myself a note. Unless you know of a shortcut?

You can go to "previously eaten" & input everything on the correct day. Then delete the foods that were not eaten that day. It doesn't take long.

That should be "recently eaten".

It's all about balance! I think you did good by portioning it out for 2 meals. 💜💜💜

You can save your meal, then delete it from the wrong day. then go to correct day and add your saved meal. Or, just do what you're doing, it won't matter in the long run.

there's nothing wrong with treating yourself. It's what you do 80% of the time. we went to a restaurant yesterday and I'm way over my calories and I might end up over today, because I was so stuffed I didn't get to eat my cheesecake and I will be eating it today. Lol.

YOH, if you haven't eaten regular meals, only salads like you stated, out, it is normal for your weight to fluctuate. To be successful long term, occasionally eating out is necessary in my opinion. You made good choices & should be back to your usual weight in no time. Afterall, you have a lot of life left to live & you're more apt to be successful maintaining if you're not too rigid.

The rice probably was the worst offender in terms of calories, sodium and sugar, so if you can, just teach yourself to get a double helping of the veggies instead. Or a side salad.

Sherrye, Diana, rn16 and Jb thank you all. My weight loss has slowed so tremendously in past couple months, partially because i have been upping calories a bit im sure but i agree with sherrye eventually i have to allow myself an actual great restaurant meal and not be upset if scale goes up for a couple days. Im just not there yet. Im also trying to get to 138 before mid July for surgery so if i go up or down 5 pounds after that wont be the end of the world (although its not the end of the world now just annoying). I still have one pair of jeans from my pre-weight gain era that i cannot quite fit into so thats still in my head. Oooo that sounds shallowish. Jb the rice could not have been more than 1/2 cup altogether but maybe? Sure did taste lovely!

rice takes up water, like pizza; it needs a heap of water in your gut so you retain water for a few days. :)

I love eating fish out and we went to one of my favorite spots that is only open on the lake in the summer and I had macadamia encrusted halibut and a spring roll. Ate the whole thing plus a few glasses of Prosecco. I was up 3# Sunday morning but as of today I pretty much and back to within a pound. I do think you are right a lot of time with restaurants you can't control the sodium. Glad you enjoyed getting out and you at least practiced portion control. Good job!

Awww thanks rpl. Definitely enjoyed. Im still struggling to get back down to the 142.8 that i enjoyed for six seconds. I have five weeks and want to get five pounds off and its looking sketchy.🤬

I know that last 5# is the hardest to achieve. You can do it and keep your eye on the prize!

Thanks sis. Just a question of how bad do i want it? Enough to walk more? Add a couple more days of training? I wish i was one of the boys with their boundless gotta get ‘er done attitude. At least thats my boy (hubs)
