I went home this last weekend to spend some time with my mom before her surgery today. Let's be honest; my diet went down the drain. In my family, we show love with food. It is common to show up at Mom's and hear "I'm so glad you're home! I made you brownies!" This weekend, it was lasagna and pecan pie... then cookies for the trip back to MI.
Today, I am rededicating myself. I am back home, with my own kitchen, and though my husband loves me dearly (we celebrated my homecoming last night with shells and cheese), he knows that it's time for us both to buckle down again and make this weight loss happen.
I am incredibly tired, and I wish I hadn't had to work today, but here I am. Going back to the Ohio Valley made me realize how much I hate this flat, mosquito-infested, swampy land mitten that is only temperate for three months out of the year.
WV or UT, I no longer care. Just not here. :(
