Well after 2 months in New Zealand I am up a little over 14 lbs. I think part of my weight gain is due to eating far too many sweets and rich foods, but I also feel that I gained muscle. Therefore some of my weight gain is muscle and some fat, but I am not sure what the ratio is. I just know that I felt better with my weight before leaving for NZ. It is funny that before my trip when I was about 174 lbs I felt that I needed to lose another 6-7 lbs and now I now that this weight was absolutely fine. If I can get back to that weight in the next 2 months I will be very happy. Perhaps the weight gain was a good thing from this perspective. Now that I am back in Japan I am eating much better and today started fasting as a kick start to my weight loss. I am not sure how many days I will go, but will do it as long as I feel healthy with it. I had a few accidents while doing mountain climbing. I twisted my left knee quite badly and it has yet to fully heal and I broke my wrist. Once I am back to full form I will start back running and weight training. While in NZ I did a great deal of hiking and mountaineering sometimes up to 12 hours of some very difficult climbs and this was on a daily basis, but I also consumed a lot of cheese, fudge which is in every shop and what they call slices (its not piece but various kinds on very delicious made from chocolate, caramel, nuts, coconut, etc) along with several bottle of NZ fine wines. Well, it's back to the drawing board now, but the interesting things is that I am not discouraged and actually don't view myself as fat compared to my past. I see myself as being slightly overweight or perhaps even borderline.
