There is so much snow on the ski trails right now! We went out for 3 hours yesterday. The shoulder is holding up. I seem to be doing OK with maintenance without tracking food, so hope I can keep that up

Never thought I’d say this but.... I kinda miss snow!

We talk about moving south after I retire, Supergainz. I would both miss and not miss the snow. I would definitely miss skiing. Wouldn't miss the wind we get here, though 😜

Wonderful to hear that intuitive eating is working well for you! I only track experiments (like starting a new diet or going on vacation), otherwise I just eat healthy food and stop when full. It amuses me when people rely so heavily on logging (especially if they do it for years). At some point, we memorize calorie counts and serving sizes 🧐

I think some people may need the discipline of tracking. A lifetime unhealthy relationship with food is tough to overcome. I know Dr. Yoni Freedhoff recommends it, and I was (and still am) ok with tracking permanently if that's what it takes. I don't know if I have counts memorized, but after tracking for a year, I've learned what portions are reasonable, and have a solid concept of what nutrition I'm getting from different foods. Took a solid year of doing it to relearn my relationship with food, though

Beautiful photo!!! We escaped the Florida heat after 30+ years to Indiana. So far so good....Just about 2 more mild snowfalls this year in my location. Lol alot spring temos next week and then a cool down again. But Beata 10-11 months of 90 degrees at midnight!!

oops sorry for auto correct grammars errors, just woke up!

I think being outdoors is great but I do not tolerate cold ( I have Raynaud's disease) so I could never do what you do. I think outdoor cardio is so healthy! I love seeing all your pics! I have been tracking for over 4 years and for me it is a way of staying accountable. I don't mind it most times but it can be tedious so I totally get doing intuitive eating. 💜👍

Thanks, Morticia! 😃 Maine coon -- as they say, autocorrect is my worst enema 🤣 Yeah, Indiana sounds way better to me than all that heat and humidity. Saunas are great if you don't have to live in them 24/7 🥵

So very beautiful, thank you for sharing. I live in sauna country and I dislike the heat now, but when I was younger, I loved being outdoors in the summer time, playing tennis, swimming, fishing, etc. I still love the easy winters, rarely even wearing a coat. But, I also love visiting my son in Alaska, where I get to enjoy the snow.

Diana -- I have a good friend and a younger brother with Raynauds, so I've seen how difficult that can be. In your shoes, I'd take a pass on playing in the snow, too. This is my second try at discontinuing tracking. The first time didn't go well, and I had to return to it. I'm hoping I've learned enough now and developed enough discipline that I don't have to start it up again.

Thanks, StormsGirl 😊 shirfleur -- there's something to be said for visiting the snow rather than living in it 😉

Awesome; wish we had a bit more snow here!! Love to xc. 🤩❤️

WOW! Amazing beautiful picture! Sometimes the snow is uncomfortable and tiresome, but this picture and the ability to ski ..... well...... thanks be to God for this glorious moment!!! As to the side discussion - I have a lifelong disastrous relationship with food. And even now, I track all the junk I still eat!! I eat less of it because the tracking keeps me honest about numbers. Maybe someday I will be able to stop, but that day is NOT TODAY and it's NOT tomorrow either! Best of life to you WYO!

lovely snow photo

Thanks sugarplum 😊 krashrds -- what's not to love about xc skiing? 😍 Although downhill skiers often say it looks like way too much work. That's half the fun for me! 😃

3dkids2 -- sometimes I feel a little guilty enjoying the snow so much when it causes so much trouble on the highways. As for the tracking -- the way I've heard it put is that there's no perfect diet strategy for everyone, but there is one for you. If it works for you, more power to ya!
