Day 2. Wondering if FS overestimated how many I should have in a day? I guess I'll just watch this for a while... today should be a challenge. Started off at the gym, but know that I'll be out for lunch and dinner today, and it's so hard to make good choices in restaurants. But I will try!

I like that comment Glen. I had a "day off " of my counting yesterday and they were not all "meaningful calories". I dont imagine all of my weight will come off on a straight shot downward so I will use your term of "meaningful calories" when I take a meal off. (no more DAYS off!) Robyn

I kept a good diary for a few months and figured out that I lose weight at a certain average calories so I set that as my target for this stretch of losing some pounds. Good luck!

I agree with Glen about the if you are going to splurge it should be something you like.Skip the bread and potato and have a small slice of cheesecake. I also always have small bits of snacks and a water bottle to keep the edge off my hunger.(nuts and seeds usually for me but could be a granola bar or piece of fruit in your bag.) Welcome!

abbadabba was this average higher than the traditional 1300 calories or whatever they usually recommend?

also do you guys "eat the calories" you burn from exercise?

I don't add any calories to my meal plan to account for workouts. And I go by the 'what weight I want to be' x 10 for my calories goal. So right now I would do 1600ish. Working for me but everyone is different.

These are both interesting comments. Thank you. I gained 80 pounds in 3 years. First from meds and then from pure and simple binging ;) I am down 16 so far but it is a long way down from here. I may have to rethink my calorie goal of 1300. It is pretty low but I am 61 so that makes it tricky ;) Robyn
