Well ... not gaining is good!! So I guess you haven't figured out yet what to do with your alcohol consumption ... it really does add a lot of calories ... might want to curtail it until you see some really wonderful progress!!! Just an idea!!

You are totally right! Every journal entry I've made I'm like, "why did I drink? that just made me fat." well, I hate to admit that I can't stop all on my own, but I just got a prescription today for something called Antabuse, and basically you take it, knowing that if you drink it will make you really nauseous and sick. SO I'm excited to start that tomorrow when the prescription is filled. and you have to be off it for about two weeks before you can start drinking again, so, no more impulse drinking! I think I will have finally conquered my biggest hurdle! YAY! (with a little help. but I'm not too proud to admit I need some) Wish I would have done this sooner! Get ready world for me to REALLY start making some progress now!

Great news about the Antabuse perscription. Don't be ashamed about needing some help -- we all do with one thing or another. Good luck.

I am familiar with antabuse ... it is a medication prescribed for people who are addicted to alcohol, usually in conjunction with treatment for their addiction. You have to be careful about over-the-counter medications that contain alcohol as well as perfumes and other products where you can absorb alcohol through the skin. Have you ever thought about AA meetings? If you are needing antabuse to curtail your drinking it may be more serious than you thought. I hope you don't take offense ... but your posts about your drinking cause concern. Take care!!

I hope it works out for you. My mom tried something similar to stop smoking and she hasn't had a cigarette in 3+ months (after smoking a pack a day for 20 years)
