My good buddy left Japan to head back to Brazil. He stayed at my place for almost 2 weeks and it was fantastic to see him. It was sad to see him go. Maybe next time I will visit him in his country and go into the Amazon with him as this is part of his scientific research. His stories of the Amazon are both amazing (creatures and animals) and also sad due to the rapid destruction.

So far so good this year with my weight. I last weighed in a few days ago and was at my lowest level since I started at FS. I am not going to weigh in today as I have reduced it from daily to a few times a week. Since my move I have been craving sweets and potato chips. I guess it is the stress of moving and adjusting. The good thing is that overall I am keeping my calories down. The next step for me is to start exercising more as there is a really nice forest path that I can walk for a few hours or run it within an hour or so. It is also quite hilly in section so I can get a good cardio. I also want to add strength training as I have good power bands along with yoga (have some great DVD by Rodney Yee) and meditation (very wonderful guided meditations on my iPhone). I am going to take it slowly and step-by-step as opposed to my past of going full out. I am hoping to eventually reach 165-170 lbs by July and 155-160 (if possible) by the end of the year 70 kgs by the end of the year. If I can achieve this then it will be like going back to my late 20's. Currently, I am very happy that I seem to be able to maintain 175-177 lbs.

This evening an elderly Japanese friend who is in his 70s and very fit and alert has invited me and a few friends to a very nice tempura/soba restaurant. The great part is that he will be paying for everyone as his wallet is extremely fatter than mine.

My buddy came back from London and gave me many yummy delights such as brandy maripan chocolate, Twix bar, helva, truffles. I just couldn't resist and had a binge after the tempura restaurant. I am surprised that my daily intake is still under 2500 calories, but about 1/2 of them came from sugar. Not good and I really have to stop these excessive sweet binges. So far, my weight is OK, but if I keep it up I know where the numbers will start going.
