ammittai's Journal, 02 October 2014

I know I haven't written much lately. I am dealing with rotator cuff tendinitis, so I haven't felt like doing much at all. Looking back over my food history, I know I haven't been eating enough so I have decided to take a week and try to eat between 1200 and 1500 calories each day to see if I feel better and/or try to reset my system a little. Hopefully by next week I will feel better and a little more cheerful.

i bet eating a bit more will help with healing too. i had a lot of trouble with both my rotator cuffs. especially when i was in PT school carrying around a huge back pack every day. PT helped me a lot. i had frozen shoulder too. i hope yours is easy to resolve. i recommend ice if it just happened, and heat if it's been a couple of weeks. or whichever feels better to you. once the pain goes away, there are great exercises to get you back in shape. let me know if you want me to describe them to you. some of them i can do long distance, but some of them you actually need a PT to show you.

Thank you :) The ARNP did warn me to use my arm to avoid frozen shoulder, just not overuse it. I do need to ice it like he said, but I keep forgetting. He gave me a 25 page printout of exercises, but if they don't seem to be working I will ask you for some.

you definitely need to ice it, it will make a world of difference. sometimes you need to have the exercises shown to you because placing your hand a different way can make the difference between ease and pain. i never gave people that many exercises because it's too overwhelming. must be new to the situation. or just not a PT.
