They say it takes three weeks to break a habit. So this is my third week without alcohol. But the best thing is; I haven't missed it. Don't get me wrong, a gin and tonic or a glass of red wine is what I LOVE. But I am so pleased to rediscover that I DO have willpower. Mind, body and spirit. Keys to success and ultimately, happiness.

Well done! I need to drop the vino myself after my Norway visit. Sister is an bad influence ;-) hubby really likes his wine on Fridays and Saturdays, his chill out thing agpftera busy week. I suppose I don't have to follow his habit I suppose...

No. Fridays and Saturdays is fine I think. It's when you have friends over or your stressed or bored or happy and the wine always makes things better. I do wish it wasn't bad for you. But I also get more done when I haven't had a drink the night before. I gave up smoking but I will not give up alcohol forever. Just enjoy in moderation. I want the control back in my life and that includes my over eating. Being fat makes me unhappy. I think you've just got to either do it or not. If you want to lose weight, stop eating too much! That's a note to self.

Awe thanx BuffyBear. Stopping smoking was some time ago. That was when I put weight on. Then things happened and life wasn't so good. We all have our 'stuff' to deal with. I leant heavily on FS last week and I feel stronger for it this week. I am so very grateful that you guys are out there. And I am here for you all. It is quite a journey. Big thanks and hugz to all FS folks.
