Gnumen's Journal, 17 August 2014

I have noticed twice now that if I eat any refined sugar during the day, then I end up eating more altogether and have sugar cravings at night. Let's see what happens on a day that I don't have chocolate.

I found that to be true, too. So I quit cold turkey. Artificial sugars act the same way, kinda like sweet begets sweet. I'm now using Sweet Leaf Stevia. All natural. A little bitter too so you don't want to use a lot. Hep me with sugar cravings. After a month, don't even think of sweets anymore.

One day I decided to have cereal (been on Atkins for a few months now). Cereal and 2% milk. Ate a very small amount too, but within 1/2 hour I felt nauseous. No more cereal and 2% milk for awhile. The cereal was also high in protein, supposedly.

Yeah, as long as I don't eat any kind of "fast" carbs/sugar, my hunger stays normal, but anything like cereal, crackers, bread, or candy causes my sugar to rise and then drop really quick - which causes a demand for sugar again. I ate chocolate to avoid a glass of wine but still paid for it.
