Lost 2 lbs .... the focus is working! My IF is on point and I am eating only to feed my hunger. Fat intake is high and mostly consist of coconut oil as the source fat. I honestly believe in it. The beauty of coconut oil for me is that it is a MCT oil and does not require the body to do a lot of work to use it for fuel. I find that coconut oil in my coffee really helps me with fasting as well. It's amazing because some time ago I said that High Fat Low Carb does not work as well for me as I expected. Since that time I have discovered the opposite in fact, and I now know that not all fats are equal. Coconut oil is a miracle oil in my case. It really aids my loss. I invest in the best quality organic coconut oil I can buy - fragrant, nutty flavour. Since I am having a lot of it, I want to make sure my body is getting the best quality possible. The same with meats. I wish grass fed beef was easily available where I live but it isn't. I do the best and in a pinch and buy the "Free from" available in Loblaws (no antibiotics, etc.). I never had any problem spending my money on clothes, shoes, vacations, etc. but now I think the priority is to spend on what goes in my body and not on my body. It's amazing how things can change ... a year ago, I had such a different perspective. I was the lady that said I could never drink almond milk .. today, I drink it almost daily. All I can say is, when you know better, you do better.

this is a constant learning curve. AND add to that, our bodies change, like our priorities. Over time you may find some things work more, others less. it's all in listening to what we are telling ourselves

Alex ... so true. Transformation is not something that simply stops ... I've come to believe that as long as we are alive, we are always in some process of transformation and so we have to be prepared to tweak things as we move forward. I did not truly get this concept before!

I have coconut oil every day and I use it as a moisturizer and on my hair. I can literally use it from head to toe. I also use it as my homemade deodorant - coconut oil, baking soda & cornstarch. It has been working wonders for me. Ha - I read it is also a great natural lubricant (maybe TMI but a good thing to know).

Darlene .. hahahahaha! Thanks for sharing the many uses of coconut .. who knew!? I am having an intense love affair with coconut right now so it's good to know that there are so many other uses. I never thought of using it "topically" ... thanks for the tip!
