Hammerzeit's Journal, 16 March 2014

One of the big lessons of trying to lose weight is this: Your body is not dumb. If you half-ass it, it's going to return half-ass results. It knows if the food you're eating is junk. It knows if you're trying to be sneaky with just "a little" bad food and it knows when you're trying to starve it into submission. It'll give as good as it gets.

I have learned to treat my body with care. I now give it the real, whole food nutrition it needs every day -- good fats, good veggies, good proteins -- in satisfying, non-starvation portions. I cut out the sugary junk (and cut out foods that just ultimately turn INTO sugar). I break a good sweat at least three times a week. I have done these things and my body has rewarded me in so many ways than with just a smaller number on the scale. Compared to four months ago, I feel like night and day. I wake up not hating life before I even step out of bed. I have much more energy now. My brain fog has retreated. I can't wait to see how I feel in six months from now. I can't wait to see myself in a year. :)
