CAKE IN MY FACE By: Sabrina Harland

I work at a logistics center, a sea of cubicles filled with buyers, expediters, data specialists, and all other kinds of assholes with Bachelor Degrees. Every damn day it is someone’s Birthday, and of course there is usually a cake AND a cookie cake. I would “just say no” but you see when I have been staring at four grey cubicle divider walls for 10 hours, there is NO damn way for me to pass up a free
instant happy fat girl sugar charge.
So it seems I need to start exercising. CRAP.

You'll never believe this, but I used to hate exercise and now I LOVE it. The benefits so far outweigh the negatives. Yes, it does suck when you start and are out of shape. But the longer you do it, the better it gets until one day you find yourself looking forward to exercising! And it's all downhill from there. Re:cake. Did it really make you happy? For how long? Nothing wrong with some cake now and then, but I do a little cost/benefit analysis in my head and the cake usually loses. Unless it's double chocolate. Then all bets are off. :)

It's all about self control, it is very hard to keep watch of everything you eat all the time but if you record everything you eat then you are held accountable for it, makes you really think of what you put in your body, you have to ask yourself will I beat myself up over this later? will this make me take a step back from my goal? you have to have the willpower to resist, it's hard but when you do want to eat some "evil office cake" eat a healthy snack, or distract yourself in some way, you have to break the cycle or deal with it hanging over you everyday.
