love2educate's Journal, 20 February 2021

With my arms giving me some trouble (no advice needed), I start to think about progress and how slow it seems.

I started “working out” off and on over the last 10 years after about a 20 year break. Felt good, but I didn’t lose weight and it was very challenging at 50+ lbs over what I am now.

Over the last 2 years, I’ve kicked into gear. Year 1 meant losing 70 lbs and getting into the best shape of my life (sans a year or two in high school). Over the last year, I’ve maintained a s worked on body composition. That’s gone well with a couple breaks (Covid closures and family care) and I’m back to the best shape and maybe a little better?

Brings me to today. Feeling tired, feeling sore and question if there is progress. I know there is and I’m going to the gym. I know I’ll miss it if I don’t go, but I also know that the day in, day out grind is a grunts.

Thanks for listening.

I know that feeling when you're sore and tired. Sometimes your body is yelling for a rest day even though you don't want to rest. If you get that spark to push through than catch that tiger by the tail! If you give it a rest for the day do some self care and love that amazing self that has pushed you so successfully. Not sure if this is helpful but it really seams like you have figured out a healthy lifestyle and committed to it.

Thanks Melt! It’s been quite a journey and I have found the secret sauce. I’m going on a date with my bride tonight, so I do plan to do a strong workout at the gym so I can relax and enjoy my time tonight in revelry. I hope you have a great day. Did you get a lot of ice from the storms? I hear there are lots of power outages in Oregon. Congrats on your sobriety!

Thanks DP. 2020 was a year of good progress and stops. It was a rollercoaster year in a lot of ways. The future looks good and I keep pushing on. 🙃

However all this snow is going to make for a helluva time snowboarding tomorrow 🏂

That is the secret though...going when we do not really want to to go. That is grit!

Great point HCB. I definitely want to go! It takes so long to make the changes, but it has been worth it.

My sister was without power for 5 days (in Oregon). She got it back last night. I heard they restored all but 15,000. There are a ton of broken branches everywhere. But we made it through! Hoping it gets better for those in Texas and other parts of the nation getting hit hard. Have a great date!
