Debbie Cousins's Journal, 10 January 2021

Woke up midnight again tonight and couldn't go to sleep. Gotta get OUT of this habit! Yesterday was an EAT ALL DAY day! Literally every HOUR I was eating something else! Fortunately, I had a lot of good choices in the house that enabled me to graze all day still without going over on my Calorie limit.

I had a sausage patty and two fried eggs for breakfast (not my most filling breakfast, but my lowest in calories). Throughout the day, there were really no "lunch" and "dinner" because I ate one thing at a time: cooked spaghetti squash with butter (twice), 8oz of butter beans, a small baked potato with melted cheddar cheese and ranch dressing, two very large navel oranges, an ounce of peanuts, fresh green beans, an AMZING "Cherry Chocolate Chunk" Smoothie that was only 274 calories (by comparison, a medium DQ chocolate shake is 480 calories and this was WAYYY better!), and a cup of hot tea with heavy cream. So that was lunch, dinner and snacks - but really it was all snacks.

OH, and I forgot the most exciting thing: a Mini Seedless Cucumber, cut up with salt on it. It was cold, and crunchy and delicious and only SEVEN calories! Those little buggers were in a package of 4 for $3.99 which makes them $1 each - or I'd just eat those ALL day for all my snacks.

No weight loss this morning because I didn't get a full night of sleep. Hoping I'll be able to sleep in in the morning so I can get an accurate weight. Maybe I'll eat those other three cucumbers today to help nudge the scales downward. I need to lose 2-1/2 pounds a week to meet my 60 pounds in 6 months goal. Lost 3-1/2 last week, but so far I'm only down two for this week.

I can relate to the 'eat all day' syndrome. I have been there and still go there sometimes! I can't figure out why, but when I am doing it I am conscious that 'this is not good for me and why the heck and I compelled to do it' but I keep on. I think it has something to do with my obsessive, compulsive brain. But today I am trying to get back into the healthy way for ME. Take care Debbie I know it is difficult but at least as you said, you had good choices in your house :-)

Helps to know I have company @JMA312. Good to hear from you. It also helps to know I can eat a real TREAT as long as I keep within my Calorie count. Looking forward to a Cherry Chocolate Chunk Smoothie early this afternoon. Fills me up between lunch and dinner.

I hate having one of those snack all day episodes! Looks like you handled it well. Best wishes for your success! You encourage us all.
