And so it begins...

Of the many attempts in the recent past to control my weight, unfortunately all have ended with an excuse. Ranging from stress-related reasons to mind-controlling illnesses, I have always concocted a reason to think the diet should end.

Not this time. Over the holiday break I looked in the mirror, and almost became blinded from the tears forming in my eyes. I am no longer someone I recognize. I am not longer good looking. I am no longer the athlete I was for so many years.

After getting married in July of 2010, working out was put on a back burner for no real good reason. School started back up in September and working out wasn't even in the thought process. Fair to say I became victim of self induced laziness.

It ends today; it ends right now. I have 52 pounds to lose in 52 weeks. I'm not trying to break records and become a weight loss phenomenon. I am just trying to get the body and health back that I once had. Come hell and high water, I will be damned to excuse myself out of doing so. For now, that is all. Good luck to all in their endeavors and weight loss goals.
