FBS 119 this morning at 7:00
wt. didn't weight
BP

Weather turned off cooler than expected so we will go ahead and butcher 2 of the animals. the small bull and out cow. Started this mroning about 7 a.m. and finished up with the cow about 2:30 p.m. the guys went to town to borrow grinder and get more zip lock bags. Both animals were bigger and better than I had even thought, both so fat we had plenty of stuff for dogs. Both animals extremely good looking meat.

I am really tired, food cooked but didn't really even feel all that hungry, just ate to keep my belly from thinking my throat had been cut! Big day tomorrow cutting up meat for freezer.

HAPPY NEW YEAR

Thanks, same at ya! We killed a cow and a yearling bull calf today, got them killed, skinned gutted and hung. Will process the meat tomorrow. Boy, am I a TIRED old woman, but I don't think I would have been able to stand up to the amount of physical work I did today two months ago before I lost the weight and started exercising more. I had my son David and one of his friends helping me. The other kid didn't know anything about what he was doing, but he was more than WILLING help, and he was a BIG help. I have one more young man that will help us tomorrow. Wish I could let it hang longer than over night, but it should chill enough to work up okay I will be grinding most of it anyway. The carcasses sure look nice, not grain fed (fat is yellowish) but they are both so fat that I was really surprised at how fat they were. I will trim it really lean though. I didn't know how to list my "exercise" so I called it "housework" as they didn't have "butchering and skinning" down as a choice! LOL Joyce

Those green horns are hard to teach in a short while. Yeah they don't have feeding cows either. House work will have to do. Get you some rest. Sounds like your going to have another busy day.....Bren
