Whoo-hoo! I can weigh in again!

Another cold morning, but nothing compared to all my buddies in colder parts of the country. Still....I bundled up and took both doggies the full distance. I probably won't be walking them tomorrow, as I've got an AM commitment at church.

Got loads and loads of stuff to do today and it's already 11 without much to scratch off the to-do list. Just gotta keep on plugging along. Gift wrapping is a major part of the agenda for today, as is putting the rest of the ornaments on the tree....right now, it's about half decorated. As for the gifts, well, I've got to get them shipped out on Monday, if not before. Sunday is already a full schedule, as is Saturday. So, that leaves today and tomorrow - YIKES!!!

Doing well, food-wise, but am afraid of what Friday will bring. DH has a fitness assessment at work and, assuming he passes, he's already been talking about all the major indulgences he wants....Chinese buffet, pizza, etc. This is going to be a real toughie for me. I planned on "some" indulgences over Christmas, but I can't start eating my way through December beginning on the 13th! I'm just beginning to finally make a bit of progress on my own weight and I'm not ready to give that up, although I'm not feeling very mentally tough right now.

If he pushes to do something indulgent, I'm considering trying to deter him from the pizza, for now, and instead have us go to the Chinese buffet. There, I can force myself to eat the foods that would still be on-plan, staying away from the General Tso's chicken, orange chicken, puddings, cookies, etc. They DO have regular salad, broiled fish, green beans, carrots, etc. It's just that that's not what I would typically eat there - LOL!

Diet Calendar Entry for 12 December 2013:
1944 kcal Activities & Exercise: Walking (exercise) - 3.5/mph - 53 minutes, Resting - 15 hours and 7 minutes, Sleeping - 8 hours. more...

Glad to hear things are going well for you - don't know how you do it surrounded by Holiday Goodies. I haven't been on here too much myself - not ready for Christmas at all and don't have even one package ready to mail. BTW - wishing DH all the best (and you too at the Chinese Buffet).

Thanks Buffy. As for holiday goodies....I made up some cookies with almond flour and then used the same recipe using low-carb baking mix. They're not sugar cookies, that's for sure, but they do fill a niche. Also made up a low(er) carb sugar-free chocolate chip bar (a la GG-Girl) that's REALLY good, but one could very easily eat WAY too many calories and carbs with that one! LOL! But my latest experiment is that I finally tried out the recipe for Revolution Rolls (aka Oopsie Rolls). They're kind of strange but I like them! With a bit of sugar-free preserves on top, you can almost fool yourself into believing they're dessert! Glad to see you're back on here and hopefully no longer sick? Nothing worse than being sick over Christmas.

Ahhhh you sound so chipper today...Even though its colder for you down there...You are used to the higher temps...just us we think 50 degrees is a warm day after being in the 20's...I have heard if us cold weather people were to live in the more southern part of the country for 2 years it would seem very cold to us if it was 60 degrees...We all get used to where we live...Sounds like you have a plan on the eating out...You can do it girl..and congrats on being able to weigh in again...The only thing I have left to wrap is a couple of toys and the white elephant gifts..Will be glad when all the eating is over too...I really need to get back on track...catch you later...:O)

Hi there Bren. I USED to be able to handle the cold when I lived in the Upper Midwest, but have spent too many years all over the South now....my blood has definitely thinned - LOL! I wrapped up some toys tonight, too. They're Angel Tree gifts for kids from families that can't provide gifts. "My girls" this year all wanted Monster High dolls, so that's what they're getting. Actually, I have a fourth girl who wanted a toy horse playset and that was fun to be shopping for that. I fell in love with a Breyer holiday horse, but it was pretty elaborate and over the gift price limit! While I wouldn't have minded spending the extra $, I know that it can be a problem when one child in the family gets an item that looks to be more expensive than another child's gift. But it was just gorgeous. Take a look outside for the meteor showers tonight and tomorrow night. :)
