Vickiauntmick's Journal, 30 September 2013

I fell off the vegan wagon again, and pretty much in a huge way. We went camping and mountain biking this weekend and ate horribly. I have eaten horrible for several weeks and my weigh gain has really shown it. I am about 5 pounds away to being right back where I started. However, I try to tell myself I am on my period, bloated, and (not to be gross) but haven't gone to the bathroom quite as much as I was when eating vegan. I think that once I get through this week, my weight will level out a few pounds lighter, but I have still gained back a considerable amount of weight. I have been biking for a month now. I've only clocked about 125 miles over 30 days, but I'm still getting used to the muscle aches, and the sheer power it takes to climb hills with just your legs. The downhill rides are a breeze, but those hills are a bear.

I went to the grocery store tonight and stocked up on all the fruits and veggies I love. I pre-packed my lunch and have my fruits laid out for my breakfast shake (almond milk and blueberries for the morning...mmmmmm) and I have forewarned the husband that I am NOT eating meat tomorrow. I have four bottle of water in the fridge to pack and I will force myself to drink tomorrow no matter what. I drank One bottle of water all day. I do that all the time. I don't know how I survive. I get waters from some of my foods, and I don't drink soda or anything. The only liquid I get is a half glass of water after brushing my teeth, my morning smoothie, and sometimes I drink a bottle of water or a glass of hot tea at work. I just don't have a natural thirst I guess.

I believe strongly that climbing back on the wagon, even after falling off again and again, is really what matters in the end. Stocking up on the good stuff and pre-packing meals is a perfect strategy! You're doing awesome, keep it up :)
