That's a big fluctuation. Time to either change the battery or get a better scale! Sounds like an excellent way to treat yourself for all your hard work! :D

Scales are calibrated differently, so you can get different weights on different scales. Pick one scale and keep it in the same place. Weigh on the same day, same time of day, same clothes for the most accurate gauge of weight loss. Use a 5lb weight (or something you know the weight of0 to make sure your scale is accurate. Your weight will fluctuate all day. If it makes you nuts, weigh once a week, in the morning before eating or drinking anything and after going to the bathroom.

I weigh every morning, butt naked and after I go to the restroom. (I KNOW TMI LOL) But I think it is the most accurate representation of where you are. I have founf there is a 3-5 pound fluctuation from the time I go to bed and then when I weigh in the morning. So, yes it is going to flucuate from hour to hour. I would just do it at the same time, same way everytime and then base it on those results only.

I know weight would fluctuate over the course of a day. I do weigh at the same time/place every morning in the same (lack of) clothes. This wasn't over the course of a day or a few minutes. This was me stepping on the scale, knowing the first number wasn't accurate, and then stepping on it again immediately after. Yesterday morning it said 304. This morning it said 311.

My scale does that too, I decided to record on a spreadsheet only the the number that repeats over.

Tesp712, that is what I'm going to do from now on... if only to keep myself from going crazy!
