Jas - here's what the atkins "lessons" site says:
Have You Lost No Weight?
You may be consuming too many calories. We know. We said that you don't have to count calories on Atkins and most
people don't. But eating gargantuan amounts of protein and fat—and therefore calories—prevents weight loss. Make sure
that you're not eating more than 6 ounces of protein per meal, drowning your veggies in butter or eating more than 4
ounces of cheese per day, among other excesses. Your actual energy needs depend upon your size (height), age and
metabolism. If you're accustomed to counting calories, you'll know what your range is. If not, women should shoot for a
range of 1,500–1,800 calories a day, while men should aim for 1,800–2,200. Eat less if you're not slimming down.
