It's been almost a month now that I've been on the modified VLCD. The diet has felt like a Godsend as I watch pound after pound float away. Honestly, I had started to lose faith that I would ever get rid of this weight.

I've had some interesting side effects, though. The worst is my anxiety. I've had anxiety problems my whole life, and I've done a lot of therapy and I'm on medication, but ever since I started this diet, I've lost control of my anxiety. My first guess was that I'd lost food as a way to medicate myself, but even now, I'm not sure I did very much of that. My second guess is that my fairly serious OCD is upset over making such a major change in lifestyle. I think there's a dash of anxiety over staying perfectly on the diet, too (my food journal attests to this). Luckily, as part of my program I see a behaviorist, so I can talk to her about how anxious I'm feeling,
