I don’t think I’d last without cheat days. It’s too difficult to not go out to dinner or catch up with friends and constantly have to say no. Yes you could starve yourself to make up the difference but that’s not right either. I try not to go over 2000 calories on bad days.

I don't do it. If I want chocolate, or something high calorie, I work my daily calories around it. If I am going out for dinner, for eg, I will eat light breaky and lunch, and enjoy dinner. Or, I will work a can of softdrink into my day. This is a forever change for me, so learning how to balance cravings is very important. You can have that chocolate bar, just lighten up somewhere else and do a little more exercise. I used to polish off a family block of chocolate, or a huge bag of chips. Now I still have chocolate, but just a small amount and work it into my day. Seems to be working.

I think cheat day are exactly what is says " cheating on yourself", I work too hard to give 3 days hard work to justify a cheat day

I have one meal that I consider a “cheat” rather than a day. That way you can still indulge and hopefully not go too above your calorie restrictions.

I do them every weekend and still lose weight as long as I hop back on the wagon every Monday and do not go over board when I do cheat
