We've all heard the adage don't go shopping when you're hungry. My personal corollary to that is don't let your husband make your meal for you when he's hungry.

Since April, he has conscientiously measured, weighed, and substituted ingredients for my meals. (He's a better cook than me, and it works for us.)

So what happened this morning when he brought me what looked like a mountainous omelet? I mean HUGE! Fortunately most of it was comprised of veggies, but I'd estimate twice the egg whites and probably twice the cheese.

I watched him as he sat down with his own breakfast; so, no, he's not trying to undermine me. He definitely must have been hungry from three hours of comparison shopping for a replacement TV yesterday.

I'll stop now and remind myself about the other corollary... those who make complaints to the chef may end up with inedible self-prepared meals.

I'm the primary family cook, And, yes, I plead guilty (on occasion!)

*Grabbing wooden mixing spoon and thunking Cerobit*... I can do that since he doesn't make my meals! By the way, nice to meet you. If you're anything like my husband, you have a lucky wife!

I guess the way to control that is to not finish what he sets in front of you?? Just a thought. You are lucky to be married to a great cook. My husband is an adequate cook, at best. I have learned to not complain, because it is a nice break to have him cook dinner on occasion. Enjoy the luxury of having your own personal chef!

Haha, he sounds like a sweetheart! But my mom loves to complain that she weighed 98 lbs when she married my dad, and eating with a 6'2", 180 lbs man soon had her packing in the pounds. Marriage can have that effect, it seems.

Indeed he's a keeper. He spent a whole day rearranging the pantry and refrigerator into safe spaces where I can readily find my healthier counterparts. Oh, wait. Maybe it was just because my stuff was getting in the way of his nightly foraging for chips, cookies, and sweets!
