Reversing Diabetes

A friend is visiting whose husband is suffering some serious effects of diabetes. I've told her about LCHF and recommended a few of the websites. Can anyone recommend a film, lecture or book specifically about reversing diabetes that she could share with her family as an introduction to the ketogenic diet for diabetes therapy? Some of you have more knowledge than I do on this. I'm not looking for debunking here, so please don't post those comments. I'm reaching out to the community to help this guy save his life.

Dr. Fung's Intensive Dietary Management webpage. At the top there's a tab for lectures and one series is specifically about diabetes.

Dr. Mercola can be rather assertive, and states Type II diabetes is nearly 100% curable (http://www.mercola.com/diabetes.aspx?i_cid=cse-tbd-diabetes-content). His website has several articles including discussions on a ketogenic diet, and some other topics that might be relevant, such as intermittent fasting to help with insulin resistance. On a separate note, the ketogenic cookbook that is changing my life (but does not directly diabetes therapy) is "Quick and Easy Ketogenic Cooking" by Maria Emmerich. Best of luck to you and your friend's husband!!!

Thank you all. I'm sending her home with a list of websites and lending a copy of, 'The New Atkins Made Easy'. That will get them started if they are hungry for it.

Diabetes is so prevalent these days it seems. A good diabetic Doctor/consultant is foremost in knowing how to keep your blood sugars in a normal range. Neuropathy pain, especially in the feet and legs, which is a common diabetic physical initial ailment, is worse with the intake of too many carbohydrates. Keeping these at bay will assist with this. Hence, your recommendation Erika, of The New Atkins diet', in my opinion is a good one. The cure, in my present opinion, seems to be with healing a fatty liver. Dr Fung holds clinics as well, at a very reasonable cost, by appointment on his site. Hope this helps!
