Moonfairie's Journal, 09 April 2016

Very mad at myself today, gave in to stress eating and cheated big time. 1 cup of icecream and not as many vegetables as I should of had. I was woke up at 3:30am to find out my Fil was on floor unresponsive at the age of 91 he suffered a heart attack. Family has prepared for hospice, tough day. To top it off my sil his only daughter was at the beach for weekend and didn't even come to hospital. I am completely mortified that people can act that way and can not be bothered. She should of at least been there for her mother who is 80 and suffers from Parkinsons. So that's been my day and night. Hope everyone has a great weekend. Love your parents and be there for them,as they were there for you.

STOP being mad at yourself. You're allowed a cup of ice cream and a few less vegetables during a time of crisis. I'm so sorry for all that your family and you are going through. It must mean so much to them to have your love and support. Give yourself a hug for me.

This reminds me of a very similar family situation. Death is so difficult for people to understand and it is so final. I feel I have lost so many friends and loved ones, that I am almost numb to it. My sister basically committed suicide from my parent's deaths blaming herself, when she had no responsibility what so ever. I believe everyone responds to death differently, and others need to understand, that some don't want to be with loved ones, when they die. I myself would rather die alone, because I have been blamed for missing other's deaths. There is nothing more difficult in life. I am so sorry for your loved one's medical situation.

My SIL had a stroke about 3 weeks ago. She went into a coma and was in hospice till she passed 14 days later. Her son came from Corpus Cristi and sat with her every day, but her daughter lives in the same city and didn't come once. They had a falling out about 30 yrs ago... I guess time didn't heal.

Thank you all for your comments. It has been really hard theses past couple of days. I am truly glad I have you all on fs . My father in law was put in hospice late yesterday. The nurses were trying to feed him,and guess what he said? He's worried about eating animal fat and sodium. My son broyght him a navel orange and he loved it. Going to bring him more fruit today. He seems like he is getting stronger and wants to come home. Last couple of months he has cut down 4 big trees on property, and not with a chainsaw,a ax. He has always been active riding his stationary bike and curling weights up until last week. So I know one thing for sure staying active and watching what you eat is very important. Hope everyone has a great week, and I am truly thankful for allof you and feel blessed. Peace.

Please don't allow other people's actions dictate yours. I have no idea why daughter is acting this way BUT I have found in my "old" age that others can be going thru things I know nothing about, others react differently than me, only my actions and reactions are my concern and are what I have to live with. She may regret her actions one day or not, but that is something SHE will have to live with. Take care of yourself....

What an inspiration your FIL must be to you and your family. Being close to him is its own reward. God bless you all. Don't sweat the small stuff.
