Can someone give me some advice? I love eating ATKINS food. I try to keep my fat 75-80%, my protein 15-20% and my carbs @5% (less than or equal to 20 carbs). I try to do this daily. I need advice in the KCAL department. I usually stay under 1300-1500 KCALs. How much should I reduce the KCALs in order to lose fat weight? Will 1100 be too low? (I am sedentary at my job, I am 56, and I work graveyard....so you can see my struggle!) Any help appreciated!

Hi, read Dr. Masley's books. His latest with coauthor, Jonny Bowden, "Smart Fat", should help! He is a Dr. in Florida.

It is normally said you don't need to watch out for the calories but I have to do it too. Guess it has to do with portion control. I was eating 16oo cals and it was working well. Right now I try to stay between 1400 and 1600. I would not go too low (1100), we need fuel to get the engine started :-)

Thanks for the help. I have changed my KCAL setting to 1400. I will reduce my protein to 15%, fat 85%, carb 5%. I am also going to order a VIGORFIT machine. I currently have mini trampoline for balance and cardio, but I want to try resistance training at home. (I don't like gyms!) In April I will switch from the vampire life to daylight...yey. I will get to garden again and all that good stuff! Feeling so good while eating ATKINS. No headaches, no hunger, but I still gotta get over salt cravings! (ie salami/cheese!)
