Trimmer55's Journal, 31 December 2015

On this eve of the coming year, I want to thank all the fatsecret encouragers for their support all around. My weightloss journey has been an enlightenment on many fronts. I am very grateful.
I wanted to post this note today also because so many of us are on the down side of all our holiday festivities and the celebrative indulgences. Even though I managed to cling to my 'regimen' well. I continued with exercise and keeping my caloric intake well below my RDI. Even so, my weightloss increased for the first time since I began in early September. Now 1.2 pounds up is well within what could be a fluctuating margin for me and I understood this possibility and so would only weigh myself infrequently (every 7 - 14 days). Still, the weight mark was not a welcome Christmas gift. I have been pondering this more, trying to assess my behaviours and what could have changed. What I think may be a factor is that I have changed the types of food that I have been eating. I am eating less probiotics, more protein and carbs, even though the caloric values are not out of my guidelines. Could it be by eating different combination of proteins, fiber, carbs etc could have such an effect? More pondering... My husband returned home after a two month work project. It was kind of a celebration to have him here to cook for and to ring in the holidays. So nice to cook and have meals with someone else. Now that in itself is not the problem. I am not advocating to eat alone at all. I just am acknowledging that we have been eating well. More meat and potatoes and salads, compared to my regimen, which could minimal on many occasions as I would be happy to eat yoghurt, or crackers and cold cuts and shiritaki noodles (0 carbs) over and over without concern.
So yes I have been eating way less fiber (salad amounts) and definitely more sugar. I'm feeling bloated and am not 'regular'. Such mild symptoms that have not hindered me in any way, but without this reflection, I might have not have noticed until it all progressed.
Just like everyone else, I am pledging to get back on the 'wagon' - increase my fiber intake and to be conscientious about the white carbs - flour, potatoes, rice etc. A slight tweaking New Year's resolution - completely doable. We'll see what happens.
Happy New Year to one and all and wishing you mindful eating, drinking and merriness.
