Thanks to all of our service members for the success on the Bin Laden mission. For all who've given up so much to make this happen, I pray for them and their safe return to their own families. Thanks for helping to keep America safe and free. I salute you!
Today starts day 3 of my increase to 1800 calories. When I stepped on the scale this morning, I was a little bit hesitant but I neither gained nor lost. I'm really hoping that the calorie increase will show my body that I am NOT starving and that this will give me the boost in metabolism that I need to get back to steady weight loss.
Yesterday was my first time doing the kettlebells. I was only able to do 40 minutes and the first ten were just a warm up. I was huffing and puffing and sweating like a fat girl! Oh, wait! I AM a fat girl! lol I sure can feel it in my legs this morning. I could hardly make it up the stairs to get to the parrot room to give them their breakfast! It suggests that I should only do this about 3 times weekly. I'll have to wait and see how much I feel like torturing myself tomorrow. Rumor has it that this type of cardio is good for my heart though so I will suffer through it. God knows I've punished my body for years so I guess its time to treat it nicely.
Tomorrow I go for my pre-employment physical at Mayo. Provided my Minnesota nursing license arrives in time, I will be starting on Monday. I am very excited about this opportunity. There will be more opportunities for advancement and I think I'll fit in with the crowd better. I love the big city hospitals. So much more to focus on.
God is good.

Good job hanging in there with the kettlebells! Maybe you should feed the parrots first! Seriously, you've been really working hard and you've had a lot to deal with lately. I'm so glad things are falling into place for you to start your new job. I sure hope your get your license in time. Enjoy the rest of your time off and good luck with your physical. Hugs!

Congrats on the job! I haven't seen what the kettlebells workout is yet. I'll have to look it up. I'm trying Slim in 6 and I totally understand about the pain. Maybe tomorrow I'll feel better that is if my next workout doesn't kill me first.

Well, I'll tell you what is sort of funny with those darn kettlebells, I am going to have to learn to have just a little more balance with it so I don't accidentally fling it and myself through a wall!

Well, thank you triaby! I am trying to bump it up a bitmore. I am really slowing down...But at least not going up!

The slow down is a weird one - it seems to happen to all of us, we lose weight and then it seems to slow down, and sometimes stop, even though we stick to our diets. I kind of think it is the body's way of catching up and if you have taken your measurements it is during this time that you find you seem to lose inches, maybe the body needs that time to redistribute or something. But don't panic or make any drastic changes, just don't give up, stick with it and the scales will start to move again soon.....
