The good: I exercised yesterday and am going to exercise today. This is good news because it means that I am falling back into my daily exercise habit. I also still have my sights set on my next weight bench mark of 219. I think about getting to 219 lbs every day. I also decided to try the park farther away trick to see if I can burn a couple of extra cals when shopping.

The bad: I had a dirty Santa gift exchange with my extended family last night and I got stuck with a box of trader joes chocolate covered cherries. I didn't read the details but it appears that there ate like 20 of them in there. 2 years ago I would have gladly accepted the box of chocolates and finished them off with a smile. But last night I said in front of everyone "oh my god I'm on a diet!" I am so irritated that I am stuck with these chocolates. I am trying to decide what to do with them. I wonder if I can return them to trader joes without a receipt?

I would hide them from myself, and after the holiday vacation, would take them to work and place them on the receptionist's desk for all to enjoy.

I remember early into my change of eating Blondie gave me chocolate dipped strawberries and I freaked out - did not handle it gracefully. I didn't like telling people I was on a 'diet' because I 'wasn't' and also, you may have experienced it as well when people try to control (sabotage) that so I started telling people I had very high blood sugar and couldn't eat those kinds of things until I get it under control. That worked better and people were more accommodating to swap stuff with me. Won't help you with the cherries but maybe you know someone in that circle who'll swap with you now, discretely?

I would totally try to take them back to TJ. Maybe you can get a store credit and buy something else.

My husband and I frequently bring our "left overs" to work to share. We have a housefull of treats, and we put them out for our company. Luckily the company took teh bate. :) We also have a get together planned on Saturday, and the treats will be hanging around until then, then out to the trash. You can always regift as well.
