I need to get on track with utilizing this website! I was going so well with my diet and exercise, but I was in a car accident a couple of weeks ago (a drunk driver ran a stopsign) and I have been so sad since then! I'm okay now, but my car was totalled. The first week after the accident, I was so stiff and sore that I didn't really exercise at all. Plus, I am such an emotional eater. "Oh, I am so sad about my car. I'm going to get McDonald's to cheer myself up." Because happiness comes from cheeseburgers, right? Geez Louise!
I'm getting back into my exercise routine, but I'm pretty mad at myself for slipping up! : (

So, I am totally new to this! I am so unhappy with my current (enormous) size. I gained so much weight when I broke up with my boyfriend a year ago. That'll show him, huh? ; )
Yesterday, I met with a dietian at the hospital for the first time. I was nervous, but she was so personable and easy to talk to. We went over some general nutrition and weight loss info, and she sent me home with an eating styles quiz to complete and return. I put it in the mail this morning. She will use my answers to help develop a plan for me.
I have tried to lose weight in the past, but I am really committed to doing it this time. I've told me friends and co-workers, which I think will make me a little more accountable. I'd hate to say to my colleagues, "Hey, I'm trying to slim down," then get caught chowing down on an ice cream sandwich or something!
For the last couple of weeks, I've been trying to exercise a little bit every day, and each day do it a little longer. I'm finally getting to the point where I WANT to be exercising. It's starting to be fun, not a chore. Awesome! I feel so much better when I'm eating right and exercising. I hope I can keep the momentum going. In the past, I've started off with a bang and fizzled out after a couple of weeks. This time, I am going to do it. I need to do it. I deserve to do it!
