34 year old Information Technologist. Married with 3 kids. Looking to get back to my pre-married weight so I can be more attractive to my wife, more energetic for my kids and just plain feel better about how I look.

New Dieter Questions.
Ok, So if I stay below the daily intake amount, and do my regular day stuff, but add in a 1 hour fast paced (17.5 mph) stationary bike ride while watching a TV show, I should start seeing results(albeit gradually)? Do I need to do other things like vitamins, or any other suplements?

I used to be a size 32 jeans and roughly 180ish lbs before I got married. Now, size 38's are geting to be too small and I am about 232 lbs. We had a birthday party for my 3 year old and my brother made a comment in front of everyone "I didn't know you were pregnant, dude". That really opened my eyes and got me motivated to start getting back to my old self.

New Dieter Questions.
Hello everyone, I am new to this whole dieting thing. Ok, so I I dont really understand what I should be looking for in foods, just low cal/low fat? what about carbs and sodium and such? I see the Daily Intake percent, do I need that at 100% everyday, also, I saw somewhere tht I need to burn 3500 calories more than I take in to lose roughly a pound a week, is this true? Any guidance I can get would be great. Thanks.
