So today should be a good day. Boi has the day off and has offered to watch Peanut all day today. Well, after his conference call, but now that's over and I'm just keeping an eye on the time to remind him when nap times are. I'm going to pre-make some food (an oatmeal bake for one) for the week as well. And I'm going to try to get some exercise in as well, as soon as I finish up this work request. It's freezing outside, but I could survive a walk around the block to soak up some mood lifting sunshine.

Sleep was not good last night again for Peanut, but I didn't truly expect it to instantly turn around just because I had cut out 7 of the allergens. He wasn't screaming his head off nonstop, so that was a bonus, he just wouldn't fall back asleep. I'm thinking tonight I might try something different - I'll run a hairdryer to help him fall asleep when he gets overly fussy but isn't gassy, but maybe if I run it during his first sleep cycle, he'll stay asleep after the first 40 minutes. I think at this point, he just has to learn to stay asleep, he's been waking up for so long after 40 minutes while we've tried to figure things out, he just needs some retraining. Hopefully.

01 January 2012

New Years Eve was craptastic. We stepped outside his room for a minute break and to ring in the Eastern Time Zone New Years, and then I finally got him to nod off a little bit before our midnight via the hair dryer, so we left it running in his room and stepped downstairs to ring in 2012 officially. My goal was to not be in his room with him screaming, and at least we were able to kind of do that.

I'm now working on some 'New Years Resolutions' or 'Keep me sane' goals that are in ()'s

My mental health has been going down the craphole for a few weeks now, I honestly think it's just the extra stress and my crazy non-sleeping colicy baby. But after spending a good chunk of the day yesterday crying, I figured things need to change. So I'm going to take this week to eliminate different allergens other than the dairy which is already gone, namely soy, and force myself into a better mood. So this morning, after he woke up at 8 and I fed him, Boi took Peanut downstairs to nap so I could get a few more winks. An hour later I got up, they were napping, so I ate my cereal and coconut milk, then went outside to start shoveling (Eat breakfast promptly, get outside for fresh air, exercise). One of the neighbors saw me shoveling away and cleared out the sidewalk and the bottom 1/3 of the driveway, huzzah! I came back inside and Peanut was just waking up, so I fed him. Then I popped in Super Mario Galaxy 2 (Play more video games and watch less mindless TV) and played the first level.

Then Boi got up and started getting ready for work (1-11 which means gone 1220 to 1200 at a minimum) and I started up lunch, whole wheat spaghetti and dairy free sauce and started to put together his jumperoo (do one fun new thing with Peanut every day). Boi came back down and helped me with a few tight fits, and... boo, I can't find the camera. But I put him in anyways, he almost reaches the ground, but the seat isn't as nice as the one at mom's, so he has an even harder time staying upright. But he'll grow into it.

It's time to feed him again, huzzah. Ciao.
