Oh man, a great day for me! I've been trying for months to get below 250 and have just achieved it! Without even really trying!
I hauled 10 boxes of "bad for the brain" food to the food bank, and gave another 10 boxes to a niece on social assistance. I felt guilty giving this "bad" food but these people would buy and eat it anyway.
The changeover in my kitchen to good oils (olive, avocado, ghee), nuts (wow pine nuts are expensive), flour and meal (almond, coconut, flax)dark chocolate (yummy) and other goodies was very expensive, and I can see why so many people don't buy this stuff, but for me, it is so worth it.
I am so energized, contented, relaxed and I haven't had a bout of depression for days now, in spite of my husband's depressing state. His state of mine is very down, but he doesn't seem to be as brain-dead as he used to be. He still gets confused, but I think there's a slight improvement in his "dementia" in just one week -- I'm excited about what a year living as a brain warrior can do to him. I hope the man he used to be will come back....

Switching my mindset to heal & protect my brain has really got me to a different level of connecting to food. I don't worry about my body at all, I have faith that my brain will take care of things. Everytime I look at the label of a food, the things that can hurt my brain just light up and I put the food back on the shelf with disgust. Thank God more and more stores are going brain-smart with their ordering.
Today I made Brussel Sprouts for dinner. I usually hate this vegetable, but cooked in ghee, garlic, tamari and maple syrup made them so yummy! No bitterness whatsoever!
