I am going away for the weekend to a little hermitage in the woods with my sister. We usually plan these getaways every 3-4 months. It is a lovely, relaxing weekend spent in prayer and in the Word...no phones, computers, or distractions. A lot of times this was an excuse to have a junk fest for the weekend but I really want to stay on track with my eating so I spent the morning measuring out portion sizes and snacks and tallying up calorie totals so I knew exactly what I would be eating. It took some time but now I feel in control and ready. I should get in some good walking too hiking to the lake and through the woods :) I hope everyone has a great weekend!

I weighed in this morning and had a 4 lb. loss. I am really happy. I didn't know how I would do this week as I was sick for most of it with a chest cold so didn't get in as much exercise. I kept stepping on the scale to make sure it was right this morning and then kept thinking "what if the scale is wrong and it catches up with me next week?" lol My goal is at least 3 lbs this week. It will put me down in the 330's. A number I haven't seen in over 8 years.

Finishing up my fourth day on FS and am feeling really good. I am looking forward to weigh-in in 3 days! I had a small victory this afternoon that I feel good about. My church was having a pot blessing today and I was stressing on how to keep track of calories. So after some thought I decided to stop at Subway on the way to church and get a six inch sub and a bag of baked chips to take with me. I was able to enjoy the fellowship and stay on track! I am learning that social events do not have to sidetrack me! I also tried quinoa for the first time tonight. I really like it and it sounds like it is a good grain for diabetics. All in all today has been a good day :)
