I've always been a little overweight, but I always thought I was doing alright really. However, rheumatoid arthritis, thyroid problems, and diabetes run on my mom's side of the family. I've only recently started seeing how difficult those make weight management and how preventative care could prevent or at least prolong those diagnoses for me. I've thought that if I can manage my weight now and learn to be disciplined about food and exercise, I will be much better off in terms of health and wellness, so I'm committed to doing better now. Hoping to not only lose weight, but build muscle and discipline.
