Hi
I am currently battling the wt issue again. I will try to make short.
I ballooned up to 300 pounds within 10yrs of graduating HS. Since HS I had gotten married, went through college , gained 100 plus pounds, got on hypertension meds. People I reconnected with from my past remember me by the diets I have been on such as cabbage diet, pickle diet, weight watcher, jenny craig, medifast etc. I have been on all kinds of diets and they did work as long as I stayed on them. Then I made a decision that was made out of desperation and the will to live.I went under the knife and had surgery for a gastric bypass.Gastric bypass was not the last of weight issues or diets.I do believe it saved my life but I am still struggling to keep wt off. I have gained wt= back up to 195 pounds. This does not seem like not a-lot of weight but when you under gone a serious surgery to lose wt and started gaining wt back it is.I have realized that I don't want to be skinny my goal is to be healthy. I want to live at a optimal level and die in my 80's of a massive heart attack. My diet at this time is to exercise and eat properly . I am already feeling better. I never thought I could sweat. I do have sweat glands. Where have they been all these years I don't know..I guess I will struggle with my health
and wt my whole life. You would think the goal of good health would be enough to keep me motivated but it's not. I always have to have something going on on the side, You would think with being the medical field I would be able to make the right choices but I don't. I know what is right but I have not been applying it in my life. I am always making deals with myself. I need a reward with a accomplishment. My goal is to walk//jog/run and build up my stamina enough to run the Bay2breakers in May of next year in frisco. I have started on the treadmill and I am doing well. I have never been a walker or a runner. I started off only doing 30 minutes and hating every minute. I worked up to 6 mile in 85 minuted in approx 3 weeks. It is so weird to say that I am doing 6 miles of walking /jogging, I feel fantastic thus far and I hope it stays that way.I started out not being able to hardly walk very far and now I am doing six miles.Funny how the body works.I plan on using this web site as mental, physical ,motivational resource as a supplement to help me in the journey of better health.
